What Happens When You Quit Smoking

If you are a smoker you may be wondering what happens when you quit smoking. After all, it's a big step to take especially if you have been smoking for a number of years.

What happens when you quit smoking is that you begin to notice some improvements in your health very quickly; other health improvements take a little longer. Are you curious about what happens when you quit smoking? Let me tell you more.

Within 8 hours what happens when you quit smoking is that nicotine and carbon monoxide levels in the blood stream reduce by half and oxygen levels return to normal. This has the effect of improving your circulation so you may find that you have a better skin color and your hands and feet will begin to feel a little warmer

Within 24 hours carbon monoxide and nicotine are flushed from your body. This is the time when you may experience withdrawal symptoms as you flush these toxins out of your system. You may feel irritable and have a headache.

After 48 hours excess risk of lung cancer stops increasing. It becomes frozen in time. Also the decline in lung function stops. It hasn't started to improve yet but at least it is not getting any worse.

Within 1 month you begin to look better. Smoking damages the skin, particularly the skin on the face. It causes premature ageing, wrinkling and coarseness. All of this will be improving at this stage. Deep wrinkles unfortunately won't disappear - but they won't be getting any worse.

Within 9 months your lung function begins to improve. Coughs will disappear, you won't be so breathless and you will not be so prone to chest infections and colds.

Within 1 year the excess risk of a heart attack that applied to you as a smoker has now reduced by half. Your body has begun to heal.

Within 15 years what happens when you quit smoking is that your risk of a heart attack falls to the same level as a non-smoker

Being What You Want

I recently received a chain letter. You know the one -- send out to 7 friends right now and in 4 days your wishes will come true. The consequence of not forwarding is usually some terrible unforeseen event. They’re usually sent by some well-meaning hopeful person on your email list. Sometimes I delete them, sometimes I read them. This past month however, I HAD to comment on it before I passed it on. The forward was the Prayer of St Theresa:

"May today there be peace within.
May you trust your highest power that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of you."

Great message, no matter what your spiritual persuasion. However, I don’t find magical things happening from just forwarding an email in some formulaic fashion. Magical things happen when I step into the INTENTION of a thought or a desire and start looking for the CONFIRMATION of that in my life. If I want peace in my life, I notice when I’m feeling peaceful. I create a peaceful environment in my home. During a conflict, I breathe and relax my body until I find a peaceful place from which to speak.

It’s more about feeding the energy of what I WANT in my life than focusing on the LACK of it. As I practice this way of being more and more, I find that I wish and hope for less and I AM more of what I want. What are you wanting more of in your life right now? Take moments throughout your day and acknowledge it when it shows up. You will notice how that will become more of your experience. Michael Dooley, of Totally Unique Thoughts, says it nicely, “Thoughts become things, pick the good ones.”

Top Ways to Get Free Internet Traffic to Your Website Today

Every day I see posts on how to get traffic to your website. Of course there are many paid ways such as Google Adwords, Yahoo, etc which offer PPC (Pay Per CLick) advertising. These companies made millions per year…even billions selling this type of advertising. I have to admit I use them. There is no easier, faster way to get immediate traffic to a website than using one of these paid services. You can get people looking at your site in minutes. But not every webmaster has the funding to pay for this. So let’s talk about some of the best ways I have found to get traffic to your website that is free except for the time invested.

1. Social Bookmarking

This is by far the best way as of now. With so many services such as del.icio.us, DIGG and others, it is important that any new website have the capability of letting USERS submit the website and content to others. A big mistake is to do this yourself. It helps…but in the long run it is a bad idea. There are so many scripts around to put social bookmarking links on your site. Think web 2.0.

2. Articles

Tedious but works so well. Write articles about your subject website. Then write more articles. And lastly write more articles. Put some on your site but reword them from any you send to article directory sites. I usually only send to one or two article directory sites unless I mix up and rewrite the article.

3. Blogging

Search engines LOVE blogs. Search engines LOVE frequently updated blogs. Can you see a trend here? You must write and write more. If you cant write find some PLR content and rewrite it. Do not just slap it up there. Blogs are awesome for traffic. I am really getting into this one and others by posting daily or almost daily. I check the stats and see the Googlebot coming every day. That means that Google is spidering my site for new content! Awesome!

4. Make Videos

This is one I do not do but I am camera shy :) Make some videos about the topics on your site and post to YouTube and other places but make sure somewhere in the video is your website name. Make a intro screen and exit screen with your URL.

5. Forum Help

I know this seems obvious but posting in forums and posting HELPFUL info is great for driving traffic. Make sure to have a good signature link to your site. You would be surprised how many people click it! But you must provide SOLID VALUED info. Do not just post one line answers. Help someone out. The more people you help, the more you will grow. I firmly believe in giving as much free info as possible and to help others out. You will be rewarded in the end.

A. R. Rahman who gave his music to vandemataramhas now returned with Jana Gana Mana. A.R.Rahman has achieved many milestone s in the film industry. The patriotic song Vnademataram sung by him achieved worldide fame. In continuation Rahman has now given his music to India's NAtional Anthem Jana Gana Mana, IN this singers from all over the country ahve lent their voice.

Rahman will accompany the Prime Minister in the release function. For thispurpose rahman, his mother KAreema BEgum, wife Saira BAnu, daughters Kathija and rafia, sisters Kanchana, talat and ISrath left for Delhi by a special flight yestreday evening from Chennai. Speaking to Dina Thanthi Rahman said " On one side there is film music. I wish to tkae patriotic music to thepoeple. That is why I lent music to Vandemataram and aroused the emotions ofthe people. Likewise I felt I should do it with jana Gana MAna also.I wantedto release it during kargil but was not able to."

In this album 40 artyistes of Carnatuc, Hindustani and film music have come together to sing and play under Rahman's music direction. Work has bene going on for two months for this. This album is also produced by Bharatbala who prooduced Vandemataram.

"I feel people sing the national anthem out of a sense of duty and not out of a sense of joy. iw nt them to sing it ith emotion. taht;'s why I ahve taken up this project, said Rahman.

About :

Just recently, Taj Mahal was voted as one of the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World. To commemorate the beauty of Taj and the eternal love it represents, A.R. Rahman has composed a track 'One Love'. It is a unique experience in itself since the song has been made in 6 different languages - Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Bengali. People behind each of the songs are same though. Rahman has composed as well as co-written the song with Raqeeb while Karthik and Naresh Iyer have joined him behind the mike.

Class of the master is visible from the first note itself as Rahman begins this soft number with an orchestra that matches international standards. While Indian feel is quite apparent in the melody that has been woven for 'Ek Mohabbat', the song is such that it could even woo the West due to it's sheer simplicity coupled with class.

The song revolves around the theme of pure love beating all odds and surpassing the lust for power and wealth. Chorus effect further adds value to this beautiful track that is mesmerizing as well as haunting. Listen it in isolation with no disturbance whatsoever and the experience is of the kind that can only be relished!

Now this is what one calls the power of music and some effective rendition. In spite of 'One Love' appearing in regional languages hereafter, one doesn't feel out of place at all and thoroughly enjoys each of the versions that follows. Whether it is Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada or the Bengali version, the arrangements and style of rendition remain just the same hence making it a beautiful experience. It is almost like putting the song in a repeat mode and cherishing the melody that flows from thereon.

Rahman had recently come with a single 'Pray For Me Brother' that was yet another astonishing piece of music from him. The song had crossed shores and made a mark internationally. One hopes that 'One Love' is also marketed appropriately and much more aggressively so that the album reaches a much bigger segment of audience that it could be doing today.

Now that would be a true tribute to Taj. And even Rahman!
